The team supports complex evaluations of pressure equipment, piping, rotating equipment, structural components, boilers, HRSGs, turbines, and other critical assets in power generation, petrochemical, and heavy industrial markets.
This role develops talent, aligns specialized resources with business priorities, strengthens delivery and quality practices, and partners with project and business leaders. It requires broad technical credibility, with primary emphasis on team leadership, resource planning, operational performance, collaboration, and consistent execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the team: Set expectations; coach, recruit, onboard, and retain engineers; manage competencies, development plans, career pathways, and succession.
  • Manage resources and operations: Forecast demand, align staffing across projects and Centers of Excellence, and monitor capacity, utilization, throughput, rework, quality findings, delivery risk, and financial performance.
  • Enable project delivery: Partner with project managers and technical leads to define scope, schedules, staffing, assumptions, risks, and deliverables; integrate analytical work with inspection, Fitness-for-Service, and integrity workflows.
  • Maintain quality and compliance: Ensure effective peer review, technical verification, modeling, documentation, document control, safety, and quality practices; assign qualified technical leads and reviewers based on risk.
  • Build organizational capability: Develop subject-matter experts and support standards, methods, training, research, knowledge sharing, technical governance, and cross-business peer review.
  • Support clients and growth: Contribute to proposals, client discussions, budgeting, planning, strategic initiatives, and collaboration across product lines and business units.
  • Improve tools and workflows: Oversee analytical software and advance automation, digital workflows, data integration, modeling efficiency, and repeatability.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in advanced analysis, integrity engineering, pressure equipment design or assessment, power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing engineering teams in a matrixed, multi-project organization.
  • Experience with resource forecasting, workload prioritization, project delivery, performance management, and cross-business coordination.
  • Broad understanding of finite element analysis, fracture mechanics, fatigue, high-temperature assessment, and Fitness-for-Service analysis, with familiarity using ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, ASME Codes, NBIC, and related standards; ability to guide complex work and engage specialized technical authorities when needed.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and judgment, with a practical approach to balancing quality, safety, delivery, and business needs.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or doctorate and/or Professional Engineer license.
  • Experience managing a specialized engineering or consulting services organization.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, utilization, recruiting, competency planning, and organizational growth.
  • Experience improving engineering standards, verification and validation, quality systems, training, peer review, or digital workflows.
  • Experience supporting Centers of Excellence, research and development, cross-business technical governance, or field and operational activities.

Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this role is $157,000 - $190,000 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location.

Application Deadline:
