Purchasing Agent
Location: Omaha, NE
Salary: $70,000–$85,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time | Direct Hire | On-Site

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join a manufacturing organization in Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will have a background in purchasing, procurement, production scheduling, or supply chain operations, with the ability to manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, and material availability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders and procurement records.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules and expedite critical materials as needed.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Production Scheduling, Sourcing, and Quality departments.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory data, and stocking levels.
- Coordinate procurement of raw materials, equipment, tools, components, and outsourced services.
- Review and approve invoice pricing and quantities.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, pricing, and material availability.
- Support inventory management and production scheduling requirements.
- Identify purchasing issues and coordinate corrective actions with internal departments and suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing, procurement, production scheduling, or related experience.
- Must be local to Omaha, Nebraska, or the surrounding commuting area.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but NOT required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and internal departments.
- Understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management, and delivery scheduling.
- ERP system experience preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production teams.
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time, direct-hire Purchasing Agent position offers a competitive annual salary of $70,000–$85,000, plus bonus and a full benefits package.
