Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Support the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of the patients at Scottish Rite for Children through Clinical Excellence, which can include any or all of the following patient care services, but is not limited to: assessment; psychological testing/interpretation/feedback; outpatient therapy; treatment/intervention; interdisciplinary team clinics; and/or consultation.
Support the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of the patients at Scottish Rite for Children through Research Excellence, which can include any or all of the following, but is not limited to: collaboration in, participation in, and/or leading research projects; consultation; multi-site studies; and/or supervision of research associates.
Support the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of the patients at Scottish Rite for Children through Teaching Excellence, which can include any or all of the following, but is not limited to: participating in recruitment and/or onboarding of trainees; supervision of trainees; didactic presentations to trainees, completion of trainee evaluations, and/or updating training/recruitment materials.
Timely, clear, and cohesive documentation of patient encounters in accordance with departmental, organizational, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate and communicate efficiently and effectively with inter- and intra-departmental colleagues and peers.
Maintain membership and engagement in local, state, national, and/or international professional societies applicable to one’s role/work.
Required Skills/Abilities
Doctoral degree in Psychology required
Minimum BLS required
- Independently licensed or license-eligible through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (Behavioral Health Executive Council) required
Completion of continuing education requirements needed to maintain licensure as designated by relevant professional organizations required
Pediatric/child clinical experience required
Maintains or is eligible to apply for the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) authorization strongly preferred
Proficient in Spanish preferred
Previous experience working in a hospital setting and/or with medically-complex patients strongly preferred
Demonstrates knowledge of child development from birth through young adulthood
Demonstrates culturally and ethically-informed clinical practice
Act in a manner in accordance with mandated reporting requirements in Texas and/or the patient’s home state as indicated required
