Responsible for managing the transaction testing process for assigned regulatory reports, products, and systems by researching and interpreting regulatory reporting requirements, designing and executing source-to-report testing procedures, and validating the accuracy, completeness, and traceability of reported data. This role requires strong expertise in regulatory reporting (FFIEC 031 and FR Y-9C required; FR Y-14 and FR 2052a preferred), along with hands-on proficiency in SQL , sample selection, and evidence validation.The Team Lead will assess data lineage from source systems through reporting processes, identify control gaps and data quality issues, oversee testing execution, and document audit-ready results. The individual will provide leadership, guidance, and quality oversight to offshore testing teams while serving as the accountable owner for assigned reports or testing portfolios. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills to communicate observations, support remediation efforts, and drive continuous improvement within the transaction testing framework.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and execute transaction testing activities for assigned regulatory reports, products, and systems to assess the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of reported data.
- Research and interpret regulatory reporting instructions, business requirements, and reporting methodologies to design effective transaction testing procedures.
- Perform source-to-report data validation by tracing reported values through upstream systems, transformations, controls, and supporting documentation.
- Develop testing strategies, sampling methodologies, test scripts, and evidence requirements to support risk-based testing objectives.
- Utilize SQL, and/or other analytical tools to perform data analysis, sample selection, population validation, and investigation of exceptions.
- Review business processes, data lineage, process documentation, and key controls to identify potential reporting risks and control weaknesses.
- Document testing procedures, observations, root cause analyses, and conclusions in a manner that is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Communicate testing results, observations, and risk impacts to stakeholders, management, audit, and regulatory examination teams as appropriate.
- Lead offshore testing resources by providing work assignments, coaching, quality reviews, and ongoing guidance to ensure adherence to testing standards and methodologies.
- Support issue remediation efforts by collaborating with business, technology, and reporting teams to validate corrective actions and closure activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, efficiency, automation opportunities, and overall testing coverage.
- Manage multiple testing engagements simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery of objectives, milestones, and stakeholder commitments.
- Mentor and develop junior teammates while fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance coaching of team members while promoting overall testing excellence and consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Six years of relevant experience in regulatory reporting, transaction testing, audit, risk management, data validation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in banking regulations, regulatory reporting, risk management, and data governance through progressively responsible roles.
- Strong knowledge of transaction testing methodologies, risk-based sampling approaches, source-to-report validation, and data lineage assessment.
- Experience leading testing engagements and managing multiple concurrent deliverables.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience with regulatory reporting, specifically FFIEC 031 and FR Y-9C (experience with FR Y-14 and FR 2052a strongly preferred).
- Strong experience performing transaction testing, source-to-report validation, data lineage reviews, and control effectiveness assessments.
- Experience designing and executing risk-based sampling methodologies and statistical or judgmental sample selection approaches.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and SAS for population analysis, sample extraction, testing support, and issue investigation.
- Experience reviewing source documentation, business process documentation, data lineage artifacts, and control evidence.
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting governance, data quality frameworks, and issue management processes.
- Experience supporting internal audit, regulatory examinations, and remediation validation efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead offshore testing teams and provide effective quality assurance oversight.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with reporting, technology, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders.
