Shipping Order Builder

 

 

Position Overview

This position helps oversee the day-to-day operations of the shipping department. The position assigns jobs to the loaders as needed. An employee in this position will work with production managers and supervisors on getting jobs completed on time to ship out. They will also be in direct contact with logistics and customer service on what orders need loaded for weekly routes.

Shift: Mon-Fri, 6am to 2:30pm

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Print the Loads Out paperwork
  • Work with logistics on getting preloads completed on time
  • Go through the back log to get all pass due jobs out and complete
  • Comply with safety and housekeeping standards
  • Verify loaders work safely and follow all standard operating procedures
  • Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
  • Interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
  • Confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
  • Communicate through email, prepare reports and work schedules.
  • Review and analyze data and information.
  • Plan, prioritize and monitor shipping activities.
  • Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.

 

Safety

Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment); report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly.

 

Travel

No travel is required in this position

 

 

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar computer software
  • Knowledge of Quaker's green screen operating system.
  • Knowledge of Quaker's shipping labels and paperwork.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 Year Prior Experience with Quaker

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work overtime may be required as job duties demand.

The employee is occasionally required to bend, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as necessary.

 

Vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to climactic variations, fumes or airborne particles, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection. A portion of the position's time will also be in an office setting.
