Description
About Us
Chimera Entertainment is an independent game development studio based in Germany. We create high-quality games through strong collaboration, clear ownership, and thoughtful production processes.
Our teams combine creative ambition with pragmatic execution. We value people who communicate openly, think in systems, take responsibility for their work, and help the team make better decisions.
To strengthen our development team in Cebu, we are looking for a QA Tester with a sharp eye for detail, a real love for games, and the drive to help us ship polished, stable builds.
Your role:
You join our team in Cebu and work closely with the developers in Munich. Your main focus is our current PC game: you play it, break it, and help us make it better every build. You also support QA on Chimera's other games when they need extra hands.
You love games and own your testing day to day. You work within our established QA process, juggle several projects at once, and start growing into technical QA beyond manual testing.
Role Overview
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviews requirements and technical specifications and flags gaps or ambiguities before testing starts
- Develops and executes test plans and detailed test cases from requirements, with minimal senior input
- Performs smoke, regression, and exploratory testing across gameplay, functionality, compatibility, and basic performance checks
- Verifies and validates bug fixes (regression testing) in collaboration with the dev team
- Manages their own workload across 2-3 concurrent tasks/projects under set deadlines (not yet managing other people's workload)
- Writes clear, reproducible bug reports with correct severity/priority classification, with limited need for rewrites by a senior
- Uses version control (Git) to identify which branch/build an issue belongs to; understands basic branch structure (does not yet manage integration/merges)
- Contributes to the team's bug-tracking system and keeps it up to date (status, duplicates, verification notes)
- Gives feedback on product quality within their test scope
- Escalates blocking issues to a senior/lead, rather than resolving ambiguity alone
- Adapts to shifting priorities within a single sprint/cycle

Your profile:
- 1.5-3 years of QA experience in a commercial/production game environment (not academic/internship only)
- Demonstrated independent ownership of at least one full test cycle (plan → execution → reporting) on a real project
- Working knowledge of Git (branches, commits, basic conflict awareness)
- Proficiency with a bug-tracking tool (Jira or equivalent) and a documentation tool (Confluence or equivalent)
- Strong written communication — bug reports must be clear enough for a developer to act on without clarification
- Solid grasp of smoke/regression/exploratory testing distinctions, applied consistently in practice
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on familiar task types, while still escalating novel or ambiguous cases
Send your CV and a short note on the games you play most and why. If you have QA work samples, such as bug reports or test cases, include them.
