JOB PURPOSE
Bates Center Ambassadors is a cohort representing diverse academic disciplines and communities. Ambassadors serve as advocates, creators, and organizers; demystifying entrepreneurship across campus, building welcoming programming, and connecting students with funding, mentorship, and practical leadership skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ambassadors will choose to focus on their area of strength lending a hand with one or several of the following tasks:
- Storytelling & Digital/Social Media
- Events & Experiences
- Strategic partnerships & Outreach
- Research
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE
- Students will work independently or in groups on their project.
- Hours are flexible to fit students schedules and other engagements and can range from 0-5 hours a week.
- All projects need to be pre-approved by the supervisor.
- Hours not to exceed 20 hours in a month.
- On occasion, student may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends depending on the College event schedule
RATE OF PAY
- $16.80 / hour
WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT
- Federal or L&C Work Study preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- A demonstrated passion for Bates Center courses and programming
- A friendly, welcoming attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Self-starter
- Excellent attention-to-detail, follow-through, customer service, and professionalism
- Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills
