As a Storekeeper at Jan De Nul in Argentina, you support our dredging project. Our projects keep open the navigation channels that carry Argentina's exports to sea, deepen and maintain river and coastal ports, and build land reclamation and coastal protection schemes. You will work in a dynamic environment and gain valuable experience along the way.To keep our activities in Argentina running, we need well-organised people who make sure our workshops and vessels always have the right parts, tools and materials at hand.

 

We are looking for a Storekeeper to join our project team and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our workshop, stores and yard. As a Storekeeper, you will play a key role in the flow of materials on the project, working closely with the mechanics, vessel crews, other departments and suppliers.

As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for the stores, yard and inventory of the workshop.Your responsibilities will include:• Receiving and inspecting deliveries, checking quality and quantity, and returning defective or incorrect items to suppliers.• Storing, picking, packing and labelling spare parts, tools and materials.• Loading and unloading vessels and vehicles in a safe and efficient way.• Issuing materials to all departments with the correct documentation and following up on the return of tools and other returnable items.• Keeping the inventory up to date in our digital systems and carrying out regular stock checks.• Reporting shortages and damage to the Technical Site Coordinator• Preparing requests for supplies and materials, and work orders for equipment repairs.• Maintaining the workshop administration, records and reports.• Monitoring waste streams such as oil, metal, plastic and paper, and organising their collection and disposal.• Keeping the stores, yard and containers clean and orderly at all times.

Of course, you will not be doing this on your own: you can rely on the support colleagues in different disciplines within the technical project team.

 

Your base in Buenos AiresYou will be based at our office in Buenos Aires, working from Monday to Friday. As our operations depend on vessel movements, deliveries and project needs, we count on your flexibility to occasionally work outside these hours, including weekends, when the situation requires it.

What do you need to have?You are well-organised, accurate and hands-on, and you enjoy keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.• A bachelor's degree in Logistics, or equivalent experience.• Good verbal and written Spanish and English.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).• Clear communication and strong planning and organising skills.• Physical fitness: the role involves lifting heavy items, and continuous standing, walking and bending.• A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.• You live in or near Buenos Aires and are entitled to work here.• Flexibility to adapt to operational needs.A technical background, an understanding of spare parts and tools, and knowledge of inventory management and cost allocation are a strong asset.
