Government & Institutional Banking Relationship Manager
Responsible for developing and managing profitable relationships with state and local government, Utility Systems, Public Healthcare, Non-Profits, and Public & Private HigherEd within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities include:
- Deepen existing relationships by uncovering opportunities and collaborating with Corporate Trust, Wealth and Treasury Management
- Provide deposit and loan solutions based on client needs and prevailing market conditions
- Drive loan production by managing relationships with Placement Agents, Municipal Advisors, Bond Attorneys and other COIs
- Review financial statements for initial opportunity screening
- Identify and mitigate credit risk across multiple Public Finance subsectors
- Effectively structure and price bond purchases, leases and lines of credit to optimize profitability
- Partner with Portfolio Manager and Risk Partners for loan approval
- Partner with outside bank counsel, PM and CCS team to document and execute successful loan closings
- Maintaining and managing accurate deposit and lending pipelines
- Networking by attending Industry Association conferences
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or Public Administration
- 3+ years of experience in Government and/or Non-Profit Banking, Public Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Motivated self-starter with ability to manage designated geography with limited oversight
- Track-record of success in solution-based cross selling to meet Year-over-Year loan and deposit revenue growth goals
- Working knowledge of Treasury and Municipal bond markets
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage COI Relationships
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong financial analysis and loan structuring skills
- Ability to obtain SIE and Series 50 license within 120 days of start date
