This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track, teaching-focused position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas, with a 5/5 course load. This position is central to strengthening the Department of Marketing, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, and Information Systems (MSIS) within the Dr. Sam Pack College of Business by supporting the integration of undergraduate instruction, graduate programming, and applied research under a unified focus on supply chain management, logistics, and operations. 

 

The Instructor will play an important role in supporting the continued growth and visibility of the Supply Chain Management program by delivering relevant, applied, and career-focused learning experiences that prepare students for professional opportunities in supply chain management, logistics, operations, procurement, and related fields.

 

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach undergraduate courses with a primary focus on Supply Chain Management, including Purchasing and Supply Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, Global Supply Chain Strategy, and related courses. Other courses may be assigned based on the candidate’s academic preparation, professional experience, and departmental needs. 

 

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in instruction, remain current with developments and professional practices in supply chain management, and engage in appropriate service that supports the Department, College, and University mission. Responsibilities may also include mentoring and advising students, contributing to curriculum and program development, participating in assessment and continuous improvement activities, supporting student recruitment and retention initiatives, and fostering relationships with industry and community partners.

 

Summer appointment is dependent upon need and funding availability. Work hours: Mon-Fri 8 AM – 5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. May be assigned to teach at various campus locations or through approved instructional modalities, as determined by the institution based on operational needs. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

100% Teaching and Service:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver undergraduate courses in Supply Chain Management
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
• Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
• Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field, improve teaching skills, and explore instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues, departmental faculty, and university staff to coordinate course offerings, share resources, and contribute to program development and improvement.
• Participate in institutional service roles, including but not limited to college committees, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.

 

Minimum Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• Earned Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field from AACSB-accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related industry role.
• Industry experience related to Supply Chain Management, logistics, operations, or closely related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and operations; skill in translating supply chain concepts and analytics into effective classroom instruction; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, and industry stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner
