Summary of Job:
The Facilities Electrician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial electrical systems within assigned facilities. This position supports safe, reliable facility operations through preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, system inspections, troubleshooting, and response to electrical equipment failures and operational needs.This position will support electrical operations at the new NFL stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The facility will host NFL games, concerts, community events, private functions, and other large-scale events. This role will be part of the facilities team responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and event-ready environment.
Stadium and Event Responsibilities
· Perform pre-event inspections to verify assigned electrical systems are operational and event-ready.
· Provide electrical troubleshooting and operational support during NFL games, concerts, productions, and other major events.
· Support temporary electrical power and distribution requirements for events, productions, vendors, and other facility users.
· Assist with event power installations, temporary distribution, show power, production requirements, and vendor connections.
· Respond rapidly to electrical issues during events to minimize disruption to facility operations.
· Assist with post-event shutdowns, equipment inspections, and restoration of normal facility configurations.
· Participate in emergency-response activities involving power failures, severe weather, fire alarms, evacuations, and other operational incidents.
· Communicate equipment status and operational risks to stadium leadership and appropriate facility personnel.
· Maintain professional conduct and appearance appropriate for a high-profile, guest-facing venue.
Experience:
Experience in a stadium, arena, convention center, hospital, airport, manufacturing facility, central plant, or other large, complex facility is preferred. Experience with sports or specialty lighting, theatrical or production power, temporary event power, broadcast-support systems, emergency power, or medium-voltage distribution is also beneficial.
Schedule
Because this position supports a continuously operating, event-driven facility, availability must align with the stadium's event and operational schedule. Work may include:
· First, second, or rotating shifts
· Evenings, weekends, and holidays
· NFL game days and major event days
· Scheduled overtime
· Emergency call-ins
· Planned electrical shutdowns outside normal business hours
· Extended shifts during major events or operational emergencies
Education & Experience:
- Tennessee electrical license or applicable journeyman-level credential.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program, technical school program, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of five years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Experience troubleshooting three-phase electrical systems, motors, controls, lighting, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable electrical safety practices.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, blueprints, one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and perform lockout/tagout procedures.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic work-order or computerized maintenance management systems.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Applicable electrical license or journeyman-level credential may be required based on position, location, or customer requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a large or complex commercial or industrial facility.
- Experience with medium-voltage distribution systems.
- Experience with emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, motor control centers, variable-frequency drives, lighting-control systems, or building automation systems.
- NFPA 70E electrical-safety training.
- OSHA 10- or OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Arc-flash, first aid/CPR, aerial-lift, forklift, or other applicable certifications.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong commercial and industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of electrical hazards and safe work practices.
- Ability to diagnose problems logically and make sound decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to recognize conditions requiring shutdown, escalation, or emergency response.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a multidisciplinary facilities team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to preventive maintenance, system reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to provide professional service in customer-facing environments.
