GEICO is seeking an individual to assist in the leadership of operational privacy compliance across our organization in support of GEICO’s Data Privacy program and objectives. This individual will work under the supervision of the Data Privacy Director, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment based on experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced lead/manager privacy professional with strong knowledge of data privacy frameworks and GRE tools, operational privacy risk management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate Privacy Assessments and Privacy by Design initiatives including collaboration with business/technical stakeholders and development of associated reporting that accurately identifies privacy risk and recommendations.
- Support Director in management reporting and communication of program maturity and privacy risk.
- Support ongoing optimization of GRE tools. OneTrust experience required.
- Provide effective leadership for data privacy incident response.
- Assist in development of notices, policies and procedures
- Support regulatory change management including creation of operational privacy action plans and privacy by design requirements.
Requirements:
- Prior team lead or management experience in a privacy compliance or operational role.
- Understanding of CCPA, GLBA, controller/processer applicability and law/regulation obligations.
- Ability to read and comprehend legal materials such as laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
- Self-Starter with ability to manage and prioritize incoming work assignments based on prioritization and potential risk.
- Strong understanding of data discovery processes, data structure, data governance, and cybersecurity principles.
Education and Work Experience:
- IAPP certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree with focus on business administration, information system management, or related field is required.
- 7 plus years experience in supporting data privacy programs
- Experience in a regulated financial services industry role is preferred
Location: This position is a hybrid role. It is required to be on-site 3 days per week at the GEICO office closest to the individual.
Annual Salary
$105,000.00 - $230,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
