Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Assistant supports basic and translational research by processing biological specimens, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting findings to the investigator. This position maintains accurate research records, manages study data and documentation, and coordinates research activities, including scheduling tests, examinations, and experiments. The Research Assistant ensures all research activities meet established standards for quality, accuracy, and integrity.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry, or related scientific field PLUS one (1) year of research experience.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Principal Investigator and Research Project Coordinator with preparing recruitment materials, implementing participant recruitment and retention strategies, and maintaining accurate participant records.

  • Develop project-specific training materials and processes for online and in-person training sessions throughout the state, ensuring data-collection sites comply with security and privacy policies.

  • Evaluate research results, perform statistical analyses, prepare regular study-progress reports, and review literature to identify new techniques that may support ongoing studies.

  • Maintain new and existing research databases and establish quality-control, security, and data-integrity protocols.

  • Advise the Principal Investigator on project data issues and recommend appropriate resolutions.

  • Serve as the liaison between the research team and external contractors regarding database-related matters.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
