Job Description Summary

At GE Vernova, we are united by a single, urgent, and optimistic mission: electrify and decarbonize. The world needs us to accelerate the transition to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. Together, we have the energy to change the world.

What impact you'll make
The M&D Platforms Leader owns the technology foundation that makes Fleet Operational Intelligence possible — the secure, scalable infrastructure that connects more than 2,700 turbine trains to the analytics and engineering teams whose insights reduce unplanned outage days and customer events across the global fleet.

M&D monitors more than 1,000 power plants globally — processing 600+ terabytes of operational data and executing 300M+ analytic runs annually. The service generates nearly 22,000 recommendations per year, with analytics designed to detect developing issues weeks to months in advance, helping deliver an estimated $250M+ in annual customer value across the monitored fleet. That value depends entirely on data that is secure, complete, and available. Your team makes that possible.

This is a newly formed team — vertically integrated from sensor to cloud — and you will shape how it operates from day one. The platform you lead is the foundation that the Analytics Foundry and M&D Insight Central teams depend on to deliver proactive intelligence to customers. When the platform performs, the insights reach customers faster, the analytics run deeper, and the fleet stays ahead of failure.

Your leadership will directly drive:
• End-to-end platform ownership — leading engineers, software developers, digital hardware specialists, and cybersecurity professionals who build and sustain the secure data collection systems, cloud-based analytics platforms, and sensor system technologies that power FOI's proactive insight mission
• Sensor Systems capability — advancing blade health, generator health, and connected sensor technologies that expand the data foundation FOI depends on to detect risks earlier and deliver more precise, actionable insights to customers
• FOI platform partnership — working directly with Analytics Foundry and M&D Insight Central to ensure platform capabilities — data quality, latency, coverage, and scale — continuously meet the evolving needs of FOI's proactive insight mission
• Cybersecurity governance — holding the team accountable for a secure, stable operational posture across all monitoring and central systems, protecting the data integrity that every FOI insight depends on
• Continuous platform improvement — driving a Lean culture that advances platform reliability, data quality, and the speed at which new analytics capabilities reach the fleet — directly contributing to fewer unplanned outage days and better customer decisions

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of people leaders and technical experts accountable for the full lifecycle of data collection infrastructure, analytics platforms, and sensor systems that support the M&D service
  • Own the strategy and execution for on-site monitoring systems installed at customer sites, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of secure data connections to plant control systems
  • Direct the development and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure that processes and delivers operational data at the scale, quality, and latency that fleet analytics and proactive insight delivery require
  • Drive the development of applications and services that support all aspects of monitoring systems and central data platforms
  • Govern cybersecurity posture across all monitoring and central systems, holding the team accountable for secure, stable operations
  • Lead the development and support of sensor systems — including blade health and generator health monitoring — that expand the data foundation FOI depends on to detect risks earlier and deliver more precise, actionable insights to customers
  • Partner with Analytics Foundry, M&D Insight Central, and Fleet Reliability teams to ensure platform capabilities — data quality, latency, coverage, and scale — continuously meet the evolving needs of FOI's proactive insight mission
  • Build and sustain a culture of Lean daily management and standard work — driving continuous improvement in platform reliability, data quality, and the speed at which new analytics capabilities reach the fleet
  • Communicate technical recommendations and platform performance clearly to internal and external stakeholders through structured reporting and presentations
  • Attract, develop, and retain engineering and technical talent across a matrixed, global organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership, with demonstrated accountability for team performance and talent development
  • Demonstrated experience owning operational processes and delivering outcomes across engineering or technology-intensive organizations
  • Demonstrated experience managing cybersecurity posture, governance, or risk mitigation in an operational technology or connected industrial environment

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Gas Power services, power generation equipment, or industrial monitoring and diagnostics
  • Proven track record leading teams that develop, deploy, or maintain complex software, hardware, or data systems in production environments
  • Adept at generating strategy and then operationalizing it — translating vision into structured plans, measurable milestones, and sustained operational outcomes
  • Demonstrated capability leading within a matrixed, global organization with geographically distributed teams
  • Outcome-oriented — understands that secure, stable, high-quality data infrastructure is not the end product; fewer unplanned outage days and better customer decisions are
  • Maintains curiosity — a deep understanding of how platform decisions upstream affect the quality and timeliness of insights delivered to customers downstream
  • Data-driven but decisive — comfortable acting with conviction in the face of ambiguity or incomplete information
  • Restless dissatisfaction with the way things are done, focused on structured, sustainable continuous improvement
  • Servant leadership mindset with a One Team mentality — leading horizontally to ensure the platform serves the full FOI mission, not just its own performance metrics
  • Humble, open, collaborative, and continuously learning
  • Customer-focused with clear, concise written and oral communications appropriate to the audience
