- 4 years of experience in surgical services area with relevant sterile processing and instrument maintenance experience

- High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
- Sterile Processing Certification or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), within 365 days of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of surgical instruments
Job Responsibilities
- Researches instrument requests for replacements and provides substitution suggestions, and completes value analysis submissions for new instruments.
- Coordinates vendor visits and education.
- Maintains accurate files and data on all instruments purchased.
- Orders, receives, and coordinates all instruments, including loaner trays and consigned items, including updating of instrument tracking software.
- Works with surgeons, service line coordinators, and technologists to assess inventory instrument needs and proactively orders frequently needed replacement instruments to have on hand.
- Assembles accurate and complete surgical trays.
- Inputs instrument and tray products into instrument tracking system.
- Contributes to opportunity for improvement identification and process improvement within the Sterile Processing department.
