Technology is comprised of five teams: Business Products, Constituent Products, Data Products, Infrastructure & Security, and Technology Support Services.
Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for managing the technical delivery of audio and video services for internal conference rooms and meeting spaces utilized by staff within the National Geographic Society headquarters. This includes maintaining the audiovisual systems and operating audio and
video services for internal staff and board meetings. This position will lead short term and long-term projects and take ownership of AV-related incident tickets and service requests and work with customers and colleagues for resolution/fulfillment. Additionally, the position may participate in on-call and other shift rotations during non-business hours to provide audiovisual support. Additional management responsibilities include oversight of maintenance contracts and vendor relationships, resource scheduling, asset management and change management for enterprise audiovisual technology environments including conference rooms and other staff workspaces. Additional hands-on work includes configuration of video conferencing technology, and lifecycle management of all technical systems contained within.

Responsibilities Include
AV Meeting Support (40%): Maintains, supports, schedules, operates and manages audio-visual equipment systems within theaters, conference rooms, and phone rooms available for use by NGS staff. Provides audiovisual production support within these spaces as assigned as well as providing support for virtual meetings.
AV Systems Administration (40%): Performs AV systems administration tasks. Leads short-term and long-term implementation and maintenance projects in collaboration with management, consultants, and service providers . . Coordinates audiovisual system upgrades and life cycle management policies and procedures of assigned AV technology equipment.
AV Integrator & Contractor Coordination (15%): Manages vendor relationships including maintenance contracts. Facilitates asset management and change management for enterprise audiovisual technology environments including conference rooms, staff workspaces, and other meeting areas.
Other duties as assigned (5%): Attends meetings, produces status reports, creates project plans, and leads assigned activities.
What You’ll Bring
Educational background
Bachelor’s degree in audiovisual technologies or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
5+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise audiovisual technologies for conference rooms and meeting spaces.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
In-depth knowledge of audio/video and related computer technologies required for enterprise audiovisual technology environments.
Experience in leading the technical execution of in-person and hybrid meetings with 50+ participants using Cisco, Google Meet, Zoom, or a similar platform
Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities.
Ability to participate in multiple projects concurrently from inception to completion with limited management supervision, including providing consultation for complex audiovisual technical solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines.
Strong customer service, troubleshooting and problem solving a must.
Desired Qualifications
CTS, Avixa, or similar audiovisual certifications.
ITIL certification(s) and/or experience with IT Service Management.

The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more. At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Job Designation
On-Site Flex - Staff members who must be physically present at Base Camp to do the vast majority of their work supporting overall building and museum operations. On-Site Flex staff hours are determined in consultation with supervisors, and are responsive to the needs of the MOE and other building operations, often including nontraditional (M-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) work hours.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
