Description

ROLE SUMMARY

GBS is Pfizer’s global engine for shared business services — Procurement, Enterprise Services, Financial Services, Colleague Services, ESG Reporting, and Transformation and Project Management.

Roughly 2,000 colleagues deliver these capabilities in service of Pfizer’s purpose: Breakthroughs that Change Patients’ Lives.

The GBS Finance Operations Lead sets the strategic direction and oversees operational execution for a broad portfolio of globally delivered financial services. The role is accountable for the design, optimization, and execution of the following end-to-end processes and supporting functions:

  • Order to Cash (O2C) – including Sales Order Processing, Credit Risk Management, Customer Collections, Medicaid Rebate Program, Customer Cash Applications, and Reporting & Decision Making
  • Local Statutory Accounting and Reporting
  • Transfer Pricing
  • International Treasury
  • International Legal Entity Stewardship
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Reporting

As a member of the GBS Leadership Team, the GBS Finance Operations Lead ensures business objectives are met and services are best in class, while driving innovation and a high-performance culture globally.

The role requires close collaboration with BU Finance Leaders, Corporate Tax, Corporate Treasury, Controllers, and the GBS Leadership Team to ensure compliant operations and value-driving business strategies.

This role leads the newly consolidated Finance Operations structure created as GBS moves from seven towers to five, bringing Statutory, Treasury, GFOs, Order to Cash, and ESG reporting under one leader.

Today's GBS market bar: This leader manages a multi-country statutory close with a clear view of restatement risk, holds order to cash accountable for DSO, disputes, and unapplied cash, has prepared for expanding ESG reporting, and has navigated an ERP or platform migration.

  • Partner with customers and commercial business partners on pricing, factoring, contract negotiations, and credit risk management.
  • Oversee implementation of complex O2C projects, including system programs, acquisitions, and divestitures; ensure adequate SOX internal controls and maintain standard operating procedures.

Statutory, Treasury, and Transfer Pricing

  • Accountable for timely submission of statutory financial statements to local authorities for all international Pfizer legal entities (150+).
  • Oversee market operations teams across all international markets, responsible for accounting matters for local legal entities and representation on local Boards of Directors as applicable.
  • Accountable for approximately $12B in FX open hedges and approximately $13B in transfer pricing recharges (profit adjustments).
  • Work with Controllers, Tax, PGS Finance, Corporate Audit, Commercial Business Partners, and KPMG across all aspects of Global Statutory, Treasury, and Transfer Pricing to ensure accuracy of Pfizer Financial Statements.

  • Accountable for ESG Reporting and Disclosures Program
  • Accountable for preparing Pfizer for compliance with emerging and evolving ESG Regulatory reporting
  • Work with Controllers, RGB Office, Corporate Audit, Commercial Business Partners, ESG Functional Leada and KPMG across all aspects of ESG Reporting to ensure accuracy of Pfizer Impact Report

Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead global process design, operating model optimization, and continuous improvement across all Finance Operations functions.
  • Review performance metric dashboards to ensure resources are properly utilized; implement improvement initiatives accordingly.
  • Play a key role in the development of global financial processes, enhancing group capacity and leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Support internal and external audits and SOX compliance initiatives; maintain complete and accurate control documentation.
