Saint Luke’s East Hospital (SLE) is looking for an ideal candidate to fill our Pharmacy Operations Manager position.
This position, in tandem with the Pharmacy Director, supports the day-to-day operations, automation, technology, financial, regulatory, safety, and process improvement of the inpatient pharmacy as well as our hospital-based infusion center. The manager will lead, coach and develop approximately 25 employees which are a mix of pharmacy technicians, interns and nurses. The manager will have the opportunity to support the pharmacy admin APPE student rotation(s). The manager will be involved in BJC Health system projects as needed. We have been able to create a great team of pharmacy staff and are looking forward to bringing someone in to continue to lead and support our team in a patient centered way. Prior hospital pharmacy experience is required and prior leadership experience preferred. This position requires pharmacist license in both Missouri and Kansas(or eligible).
Overall duties and expectations include:
• Design, manage and ensure workflow to ensure efficiency and timeliness to care
• Establish quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Contribute to the achievement of department goals by effectively participating in or leading committees and work groups
• Participate in the orientation and training of personnel in practice area
• Work with representatives from other departments to resolve patient care issues
• Accept responsibility for assisting the department with the procurement, maintenance and ongoing evaluation of drug inventory and other supplies
• Precept pharmacy learners including technicians, students, and residents
• Attend management and departmental team meetings, participate in the SLHS Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, and other meetings
• Maintain regulatory compliance on a federal and state level related to pharmacy practice and operations
• Mediate and resolve interpersonal team and department conflicts
• Identify skills and aptitude of staff and assists in their career development and learning of new skills
• Work with medical, nursing, administrative and other pharmacy personnel
• Responsible for human resources management including recruitment, retention, performance management, employee engagement and development of staff
• Use Performance Management Process to coach, counsel and evaluate employee performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- licensed Pharmacist in Kansas and Missouri
- Medication Therapy Services-MO Division of Professional Registration
