JOB SUMMARY
As a Project Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, crane operators, and field teams to develop innovative heavy-lift, heavy-transport, and industrial construction solutions. You'll gain hands-on experience in both the office and the field while applying engineering principles to complex lifting operations, custom tooling, and mission-critical industrial projects. Through structured training and mentorship, you'll build the technical, project management, and problem-solving skills needed for a successful long-term engineering career.
Branch Operations Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design engineered lift plans that prioritize safety, efficiency, and successful project execution.
- Perform engineering calculations related to lifting, rigging, structural loading, and heavy transport.
- Create concept drawings, fabrication drawings, and 2D/3D models using AutoCAD, Inventor, and other specialized engineering software.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, operating instructions, equipment records, and testing documentation.
- Visit customer job sites to gather project information, participate in job walks, and support heavy-lift and heavy-transport operations.
- Assist with load testing, field validation of engineered equipment, and the implementation of lift plans.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Project Management, and Field teams to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
- Evaluate project feasibility by analyzing engineering calculations, equipment layouts, and operational requirements.
- Develop skills and expertise in project management, customer communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, as well as heavy-lift engineering, rigging, transport planning, industry safety standards, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university (or graduation within the next six to nine months).
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including statics and mechanics.
- CAD experience through coursework, internships, undergraduate research, or engineering projects.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with crane, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position combines office-based engineering work with field experience at customer job sites. Candidates should be comfortable:
- Working both indoors and outdoors.
- Traveling to project sites as needed.
- Performing physical work in industrial environments.
- Working flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends when project schedules require.
