IMEG is hiring a Construction Administrator in St. Louis, MO to perform site observations during construction and provide information as requested to contractors. This role keeps the engineer informed of project status and aware of potential problems or liability issues while supporting engineering teams focused on various types of vertical building design.
You will review project scope, budgets, schedules, contract documents, change orders, payment applications, and closeout activities while coordinating with project managers, design engineers, contractors, architects, and clients. You will also attend construction progress meetings, document field conditions, and support healthcare and MEP projects for the team you would join.

What You'll Do
Review project scope, contracted services, and budget requirements.
Meet with the Operations Manager, Project Managers, and design engineers to review expectations and the role to be fulfilled on assigned projects.
Prepare work schedules and time projections, and coordinate work with the Construction Supervisor and design engineers.
Review contract documents with contractors, clarify and interpret contract documents, and obtain information from design engineers as required.
Keep the engineer informed of project status and aware of potential problems or liability issues.
Observe construction progress and quality of workmanship through meetings and site visits, and issue reports regarding deficiencies in the project.
Collect data, review change orders with the design engineer, and document events and circumstances.
Confer with the Architect and coordinate with the design engineer on construction coordination issues between architectural and engineering design.
Review applications for payment submitted by the Contractor and forward them to the Project Manager with recommendation for disposition.
Prepare project closeout documents, assist the Client with final observation of the work and receipt of required contractor documentation, and attend construction progress meetings and report proceedings.

Qualifications (one of the following):
Option A: Bachelor’s Degree (Science) or Associate Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
Option B: Associates degree, or certificate, in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
Experience
Qualifications (one of the following):
Option A: 6 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Option B: 10 years of experience minimum required, 14 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Required Skills/Abilities
Must be familiar with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents
Knowledge of design and construction techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans and drawings
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and structures
Field experience or skilled trades a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to travel 20-50% with occasional overnight stays

Service mix is healthcare-led, with strong activity in acute care, outpatient, MOB, children’s, academic teaching, and community hospital work. The team frequently appears on full MEP scopes with fire protection, telecom, security, AV, and some structural and civil support, suggesting particular strength in imaging, emergency, sterile, lab, and coordinated hospital support spaces.
Recent work includes Mid-Scale Peptide Synthesis - Basic Design Phase, Industrial; 17012:26 - BP2206 Equipment Destructive Cleaning Modifications, Industrial; and 17012:28 - Apollo 2 Synthesis Process Piping Design Support, Industrial.
