Job Description:

About the Role:

The Presentation Scheduler Free-to-Air Entertainment & Factual is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and engaging daily transmission playlists for our Finnish FTA entertainment and factual channels, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience and strong commercial performance. This entry-level role is ideal for a curious, detail-focused professional with basic scheduling skills and a strong willingness to learn in a dynamic broadcast environment.

You’ll join a team grounded in our Disney values — acting with Integrity, welcoming everyone through Inclusion, embracing boundless Creativity, working together through Collaboration and caring deeply for our Community. These values shape how we work and how we support one another every day.

This role will be based in our Helsinki office, 4 days a week, with either a Monday or Friday working from home. This is a fixed-term contract till 20.02.2027.

What you will do:

In this role, you will compile and deliver final daily TV playlists for our FTA entertainment and factual channels in Finland, ensuring compliance with local broadcast regulations, commercial agreements, and on-air promotional strategies. You will schedule promos, continuity, and secondary events, manage late changes, and coordinate closely with Ad Sales, Creative, Operations, and Programming teams to optimize viewer retention and commercial availability. This role matters because it directly shapes the on-air experience and channel performance, requiring strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and a proactive, learning-oriented mindset.

  • Complete and deliver daily transmission playlists for Finnish FTA entertainment and factual channels, ensuring compliance with local broadcast law and internal commercial and promotional strategies.
  • Schedule short-form elements, including on-air promo campaigns, presentation and continuity items, and secondary events according to predefined strategies and guidelines.
  • Check programme information, manage playlist timings, and ensure all physical and digital media assets are available and ready for broadcast.
  • Effectively handle late programme deliveries, promo changes, and other unplanned events, updating playlists to maintain compliance and channel quality.
  • Maximize viewer retention by managing channel architecture, break patterns, and on-air promo campaigns, ensuring commercial availability meets agreed hourly targets.
  • Plan and track promo campaigns for FTA channels, setting campaign targets, monitoring delivery, and following up on performance.
  • Support programme and schedule planning for Nordic linear channels and participate in make-list and promo strategy discussions with Creative and Scheduling teams.
  • Coordinate with Ad Sales and external partners to optimize commercial inventory and ensure sponsor and promotional commitments are executed as planned.
  • Serve as backup for other Presentation Schedulers during holidays, illness, or peak periods, helping maintain continuity of operations.
  • Ensure legal requirements for commercial availability are met, playlist deadlines are achieved, and promo inventory is effectively planned and reported.
  • Use broadcast management systems (e.g., IBMS, OnAir, What’s On/WhatsON) and multiple IT tools simultaneously to build, check, and deliver accurate schedules.
  • Contribute to training and onboarding of new starters in scheduling processes and tools, sharing best practices and supporting their development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all scheduling and data-entry tasks.
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, with good prioritization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work with several IT systems simultaneously and navigate complex broadcast or scheduling tools.
  • Experience or familiarity with broadcast management systems such as IBMS, OnAir, or What’s On/WhatsON is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for managing schedules, reports, and promo plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to build relationships, manage diverse stakeholder needs, and communicate clearly and candidly across internal and external partners.
  • Resilience under pressure, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, adapt to change, and maintain composure when handling last-minute schedule changes.
  • Curious, entry-level professional with basic scheduling or media skills and a strong willingness to learn and develop in a broadcast environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Relevant experience in TV scheduling, presentation, content programming, media planning, or broadcast operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a broadcast environment, preferably in Presentation Scheduling or TV media.
  • Experience using WhatsON or similar scheduling systems for creating final TV linear schedules.
  • Degree-level education in Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of entertainment and factual programming, media planning, and sponsor or promo campaign execution.
