Team Overview

As a Sr. Consultant, Analytics Consulting, you will serve as the primary delivery lead for client-contracted analytics consulting engagements focused on credit risk management and business intelligence. You will be responsible for delivering customized analytical solutions that help clients make better risk decisions, improve business performance, and maximize the value of TransUnion data and analytics assets.
You will lead engagements across the full analytics lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analytical design, data extraction, modeling, validation, insight generation, and executive presentation. Working closely with clients, Sales teams, Solution Consultants, and DSA analysts, you will translate complex business challenges into impactful analytical solutions that drive measurable client value and revenue growth. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of analytics consulting engagements, including: requirements gathering and business problem definition, analytical design and solution development, data extraction, transformation, and quality assurance, statistical analysis, modeling, and benchmarking, insight development and client presentation.
• Deliver analytics consulting products such as: custom scorecard and model development, market trends and benchmarking studies, innovation lab engagements, retained analytics programs, custom aggregate data solutions, reject inference and lost sales analyses, other custom analytical engagements aligned to client needs.
• Serve as the primary DSA lead for opportunities initiated through the established sales and engagement process.
• Support proposal development, discovery activities, and analytics requirements definition in partnership with Sales and Solution Consultants.
• Collaborate with DSA analysts to ensure scalable, high-quality delivery while providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, client-relevant recommendations and revenue-oriented business outcomes.
• Partner with Sales and Solution Consultants to identify new analytics opportunities and expand client adoption of analytics consulting services.
• Apply advanced analytical techniques including: segmentation and portfolio analytics, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, scenario development and simulation, advanced machine learning methodologies.
• Develop and maintain project plans to ensure engagements are completed on time, within scope, and aligned to client expectations.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to clients, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, governance, privacy, and model risk management requirements.
• Contribute to the evolution of the analytics consulting function by helping define scalable engagement models, delivery best practices, and new analytics offerings.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Consulting & Project Leadership:

• Partner with Sales and Solution Consultants to define analytical requirements, support proposal development, and deliver contracted analytics solutions.
• Shape analytical approaches and solution frameworks aligned to client business objectives.
• Independently manage multiple complex projects while ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
• Provide consultative guidance to clients, helping translate business challenges into analytical solutions.
• Support revenue-generating analytics consulting activities through participation in opportunity qualification, proposal development, and output design.
• Collaborate with Sales and Solution Consultants to identify opportunities for custom analytics engagements.
• Contribute to client retention and growth through high-impact analytical insights and value-added consulting.
• Maintain strong alignment with revenue objectives and contracted client deliverables.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Canadian consumer lending, credit risk management, and business intelligence practices.
• 5+ years of analytics experience within financial services, risk management, or related industries.
• 3+ years of experience leading client-facing analytics engagements and delivering business-focused analytical solutions.
• Advanced analytical and programming capabilities using R, SAS, SQL, Python, and big data technologies such as Hive, Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-based platforms.
• Experience developing and validating predictive models, including logistic regression, decision trees, XGBoost, and other statistical or machine learning techniques.
• Proven ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights and executive-level recommendations.
• Experience working with credit bureau data, custom analytics solutions, benchmarking studies, model development, and strategic business intelligence initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent client engagements while maintaining high-quality deliverables and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to present analytical findings to executives, business leaders, and technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across clients, Sales, Solution Consultants, Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-oriented language.
• Experience guiding analysts and supporting scalable delivery models through collaboration and mentorship.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of leading engagements with minimal supervision.
• Strong project management and consulting skills.
• Results-oriented with a focus on client outcomes and revenue impact.
• Ability to balance hands-on analytical execution with strategic consulting responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to identify emerging client needs and shape innovative analytics use cases.
