You're an environmental professional who's just as comfortable interpreting complex regulations at a desk as you are walking a construction site with a clipboard in hand. You know how to translate technical compliance requirements into clear direction — for Town departments, for consultants in the field, and for the public — and you're not afraid to draft an enforcement action when the situation calls for it. You bring a steady, detail-oriented approach to inspections and documentation, paired with the communication skills to represent Gilbert confidently in front of regulatory agencies and community groups. You take pride in protecting Gilbert's air, water, and land, and you see training and outreach as just as important as enforcement.
At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- Associate degree or a two-year Technical Certificate (Bachelor's degree in environmental education, environmental science, or a closely related field highly desirable)
- 2 years of experience in environmental programs, including compliance assessment and implementation of environmental public education programs
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain MS4 Compliance & Code Enforcement Certified Inspector certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
This position requires a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
This position has been designated as a Medium work position that spends a portion of their workday in a field and industrial/construction site environment.
