Description
Lead Wellness Coordinator
On Site | Davie, FL | Full-Time | 8:30am-4:30pm |$20-22/hour
About the Role
You lead the operational backbone of the AWA program environment. As Lead Wellness Coordinator, you supervise the Wellness Coordinator team and ensure the day-to-day experience for adolescent clients is safe, structured, and therapeutically consistent — from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and client-facing, requiring calm under pressure, strong leadership, and genuine investment in the teens you serve.
Backgrounds that translate well: Youth Work · Behavioral Health · Education · Case Management · Community Services · Team Leadership
What You'll Do
- Supervise the Wellness Coordinator team, ensuring responsibilities and coverage are met
- Lead training on policies, procedures, de-escalation techniques, and clinical protocols
- Monitor team satisfaction, address concerns, and foster a positive work environment
- Plan the daily Wellness Coordinator schedule and assign tasks
- Collaborate with clinical staff to align the daily program schedule with clinical needs
- Oversee execution of daily program operations, including intakes, assessments, drug testing, therapy groups, and Psych NP sessions
- Oversee administration and completion of client assessments
- Observe and monitor client behavior throughout daily activities; offer emotional support while maintaining healthy boundaries
- Handle crises with calm, non-confrontational de-escalation and redirection techniques
- Engage clients and coordinate with clinical staff to prevent AMA discharges
- Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations, including food safety and Environment of Care (EOC) protocols
- Conduct equipment safety checks and fire/disaster preparedness drills
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2+ years of experience in the behavioral health field
- Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a team
- Strong documentation and incident reporting skills
- Bilingual required: English and Spanish
- Emotionally regulated, professional, and consistent under pressure
- Understands the limits of a non-clinical role — escalates appropriately, never makes independent clinical decisions
- Eligible for DCF and AHCA Level 2 Background check
Preferred
- Experience working with teenagers
- High school diploma or GED
