POSITION SUMMARY
The Court Monitor is responsible for overseeing the basketball courts during designated facility hours. The Monitor will enforce rules and policies, while ensuring a safe, fun area for members to interact and enjoy. This position may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities.
This position requires active, face-to-face leadership within programs and Monday- Friday availability, from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Saturday availability preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains supervision of members utilizing the basketball courts
- Enforces safety standards
- Enforces facility rules
- Follows emergency procedures as needed
- Monitors the use of the facilities
- Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
- Handles member complaints
- Deescalates situations as needed
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association.
COMPENSATION
$14.35 - $17.93 ; Part-Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hours per week)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Three to six month’s customer service, security, or supervision experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages and lifestyles. Ability to consistently enforce YMCA policies. Must be 18 years of age or older. Working knowledge of a computers and experience with a variety of software applications. YMCA experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- CPR Certification required within the first 60 days
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days

TRAVEL:
5-10% of local travel within the state of Michigan, primarily between other branch locations in the Greater Grand Rapids Association; occasional out-of-state travel maybe required for educational conferences or training.
