Description

Job description:

At Office1, we leverage our "winning triangle" to create an unparalleled company culture. We align our commitment to our customers with our employee goals. We understand that our employees enable our customers' success and that is why we focus on creating opportunities rooted in our employee' purpose and passions!

What is Office1?

As a leading provider of office technology solutions in the SMB space, Office1 has been serving our customers since 1995. We offer our customers a unique SaaS like engagement to manage all their technology technological needs as this has enabled Office1 to become one of the fastest growing managed service providers in the Western United States.

Come help us shape the future!

Office1 is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical  Staff Accountant / Analyst to join our accounting team. This position will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization while playing an active role in month-end closing, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, tax reporting, business licensing, and financial analysis.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accounting principles and is comfortable working across multiple areas of accounting rather than specializing exclusively in accounts payable or accounts receivable.

This role requires someone who can accurately process transactions while also understanding how those transactions flow through the general ledger and ultimately impact the company's financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general ledger accounting, including preparation and posting of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation of GL accounts.
  • Prepare month end closing.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions and account balances are accurate and properly recorded.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and other management reporting.
  • Perform bank, credit card, cash, and financial account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with business tax reporting, filings, documentation, and related compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the company's business license portfolio, including renewals, registrations, documentation, and compliance deadlines.
  • Enter and maintain company accounting transactions accurately and timely.
  • Work within QuickBooks and other accounting/ERP systems to process transactions, reconcile accounts, maintain financial records, and generate reports.
  • Process and apply customer payments, bank funding, leasing-company funding, deposits, and other cash transactions.
  • Understand and process leasing-company transactions, including funding, pass-through billing, lease buyouts, and related accounting activity.
  • Research account discrepancies and work with customers, leasing companies, financial institutions, vendors, and internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed.
  • Review AR aging and support collection efforts while coordinating with internal departments to resolve customer account issues.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities and ensure transactions are recorded to the appropriate entity and accounts.
  • Assist with preparation and recording of assets, liability, revenue, and expense transactions.
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records.
  • Utilize Excel to analyze accounting and financial information, prepare reconciliations, organize data, and support system uploads and reporting.
  • Assist accounting leadership with financial analysis, special projects, audits, reporting, and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of hands on accounting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent relevant accounting experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Experience preparing or supporting financial statements and P&L reporting.
  • Experience with bank and financial reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of business tax reporting and general business tax requirements.
  • Experience managing business licenses, registrations, or similar compliance responsibilities preferred.
  • Hands-on QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with leasing companies, lease funding, pass-through billing, or lease buyouts is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in office technology, equipment leasing, managed services, copier, or related industry is a plus.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filtering, data analysis, templates, and large spreadsheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research discrepancies and identify solutions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work independently.
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and willing to take on new responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing business environment.
  • Positive, collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of management.
