Maintenance Mechanic A - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic A - 2nd Shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.85 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential.

## What you’ll do:

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform work involving maintenance skills to install, repair, and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of the facility.

In this function, you will:

• Identity the cause and complete the repair of unexpected breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and building components on industrial equipment plant wide and have basic knowledge of PLC’s and controls.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Fabricate new and/or replacement metal parts for equipment.
• Prepares reports documenting work performed.
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines.
• Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
• Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.

## Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or a GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
• Must have a Minimum of three(3) years of relevant job experience.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or College Degree in related field of study preferred.

• Be able to read & interpret part, machine, hydraulic, & electrical schematics.
• Proficient in using a multi-meter.
• Fundamentals of electricity, plumbing, pneumatic systems and hydraulics.
• Experience in the following: Electro-mechanical work, Variable frequency drives, welding, Pneumatic controls, Inventory management, Air Compressors, Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance and Conveyor systems.
• Understanding of servo motors, encoders, drives, PLC’s and controls.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.

Environmental Factors

• Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, FR shirts, and otthers based on the department you are in).
• Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
