Team Overview

The Brazil Mobility & Food Onboarding team is responsible for building safe, efficient, and scalable onboarding experiences for drivers, couriers, and other platform partners.

We are looking for a Safety Onboarding Operations Manager to lead strategic initiatives that strengthen our onboarding processes, address emerging risks, and support the sustainable growth of the business. In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and drive projects from strategy through implementation. The ideal candidate combines strong project and stakeholder management skills with an analytical and risk-oriented mindset.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding and safety initiatives across DiDi’s Mobility and Food businesses in Brazil.
  • Identify vulnerabilities throughout the onboarding journey and develop scalable controls to prevent identity theft, document fraud, account misuse, and other fraudulent activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Brazilian government entities, and other external partners or vendors.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Safety, Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, and Data teams to design and implement onboarding solutions that balance safety, user experience, regulatory requirements, and business growth.
  • Lead projects from problem identification and business-case development through solution design, implementation, and impact evaluation.
  • Define and monitor key onboarding, fraud, operational, and conversion metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that onboarding processes comply with Brazilian regulations, including applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
  • Prepare clear recommendations and communicate project progress, risks, and results to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the development of team capabilities by sharing knowledge, establishing best practices, and promoting structured, data-driven decision-making.

Role Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, operations, strategy, or related areas, preferably within technology area.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders at different levels of an organization.
  • Basic SQL skills and the ability to use data to identify trends, evaluate risks, and measure business impact.
  • Experience identifying emerging risks, conducting research and analysis, and translating insights into practical business actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Advanced English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
  • The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and turn ambiguous problems into structured action plans.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Public Administration, Law or another relevant field.
  • Experience working with Brazilian government entities, and public-sector partners.
  • Knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment and general data-protection principles is considered a plus.
