Assistant Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Initiatives

Job Summary:

Northeastern University's Division of Enrollment Management seeks a dynamic, strategic, and driven leader to serve as Assistant Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Enrollment Officer and Head of Global Expansion, this senior role serves as a key architect of the Division's strategic execution, responsible for ensuring that the Division's most important initiatives move from vision to reality.

 

This is a high-impact leadership position for someone who combines strategic acumen with the interpersonal credibility to hold people accountable, build authentic relationships, and drive results across a complex, matrixed organization. The Assistant Vice President is a trusted ally, a driver of accountability, and a steward of commitments, unwavering in their dedication to moving the Division's most important work forward.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced enrollment professional and emerging executive leader who pushes through obstacles, inspires confidence, and brings out the best in the teams and individuals around them. 

Alongside this strategic leadership, the AVP oversees a high-performing team of Senior Directors and Directors who manage the Division's best-in-class enrollment technology systems, while also maintaining responsibility for the unit's budget and the contracts that support the Division's operations.

Required Experience 

• 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, higher education administration, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a large, dynamic institution
• Proven ability to hold colleagues and teams accountable while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — written, verbal, and executive presence
• A track record of pushing through obstacles and delivering results, even under pressure or in ambiguity
• Experience managing and developing direct reports

Preferred Experience

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field
• Experience working closely with or within a senior enrollment or university leadership team
• Familiarity with enrollment strategy, including undergraduate and/or graduate recruitment, retention, financial aid, and student success
• Experience at a large research university or similarly complex institution
• Familiarity with Northeastern University's mission, culture, and enrollment landscape

Expected Hiring Range:

$157,130.00 - $227,840.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
