SENIOR EXECUTIVE, GROUP LEGAL & ADVISORY - CORPORATE II, BANKING & SUBSIDIARIES

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Advice and assist to the best of its ability to ensure KPJHB and its group of companies’ legal rights are protected.
• Assist the Unit Head to provide legal advice to KPJHB and its group of companies on corporatey, banking and subsidiary compan matters including to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and corporate governance requirements.
• Assist the Unit Head to negotiate, draft and review contracts, agreements and other legal documents with regards to corporate contract including its implementation for KPJHB and its group of companies.
• Assist the Unit Head to communicate and negotiate with external parties on corporate matters, if required.
• Liaise with external counsel to manage litigation matters effectively, including dispute resolution and litigation strategy, for KPJHB and its group of companies’.
• Monitor the on-going litigation cases.
• Member for the relevant committee in KPJHB and its group of companies as representative of Group Legal and Advisory.
• Prepare and update the relevant legal report.
• Assist the Unit Head to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide legal guidance and support on various matters.
• Assist the Unit Head to manage the legal due diligence exercise for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of development and updates in relevant laws and regulations applicable to KPJHB and its group of companies.
• Attending meetings and discussions with the management of KPJHB and its group of companies, external lawyers, relevant authorities and external parties to discuss, resolve or finalise any issues.
• Provide legal support in relation to KPJHB and its group of companies’ day to day operations and implementation of agreements.
• Conduct and coordinate legal training to internal and external parties.
• Attending to all other general legal duties.
• Execute any work as and when instructed by the Head of Legal & Advisory and Unit Head in the Group Legal & Advisory.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution (local or foreign) or an equivalent degree in a related field.
• Master of Laws (LL.M) (optional) – Specialization in areas such as Corporate Law, Commercial Law, or International Law.
• Advanced Executive Programs / MBA (optional) – For leadership and business management exposure.
• Admission to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is an advantage
• 2 to 5 years related working experience
