Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
  • Develops internal training programs and determines appropriate instructional methods, teaching aids, and media for effective transfer of knowledge and skills
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as standardized work practices, technical competencies, and interpersonal skills
  • Assists in developing training initiatives
  • Collaborates with all departments for technical training programs and proficiency testing
  • Tests employees to measure progress, evaluate effectiveness, and basic skills
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods
  • Provides guidance and resources for plant wide training programs
  • Upholds and promotes Nascote’s 14 Lean Principles through daily activities.
  • Assists Training Coordinator with sourcing and coordinating outside training resources
  • Coordinates Human Resource projects as assigned
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Participates in department meetings
  • Completes documentation of activities as required
  • Submits cost reductions and innovation ideas
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting, preferred
  • Previous training experience or six month related experience, or equivalent combination of developing and presenting training programs.
  • Ability to interpret technical data, processes, operating instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to develop and proof training materials
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
  • Strong problem solving and computer skills
  • Good interpersonal  and communication skills
  • Required:  BA/BS degree in a Human Resources/Training Field
