About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Risk & Assurance to help Iron Ore Pilbara Operations strengthen risk management and assurance across its integrated operational network.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys turning risk information into practical action, influencing how risk is managed across multiple sites and functions, and building capability across a broad stakeholder community. You will play a key role in uplifting, embedding and continuously improving risk and assurance practices that support operational performance and alignment with the Group Risk Standard.
Reporting to the Manager Risk & Assurance, Pilbara Operations, and partnering with operational and functional leaders across Iron Ore Pilbara, you will:
Coordinate and support the delivery of first-line assurance activities across Pilbara Operations
Enable effective risk and assurance governance through Risk Coordinator Forums, Risk and Assurance Forums and Standards Working Groups
Support assets to develop and maintain risk-based assurance plans aligned to business priorities
Develop actionable risk reporting and insights covering risk health, control effectiveness, assurance outcomes and emerging themes
Partner with risk and control owners, site-based risk coordinators and subject matter experts to progress key priorities and address gaps
Develop and maintain risk management resources, guidance materials, templates and supporting tools
Build capability through training, coaching and support for risk coordinators, control owners and control verifiers
Deliver continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen risk management and assurance practices across Pilbara Operations
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Demonstrated experience in operational risk, assurance, governance, controls or continuous improvement within mining or another large-scale, safety-critical environment
Strong ability to engage and influence operational and functional stakeholders, facilitate governance forums and translate risk information into practical actions
Sound understanding of control design, control effectiveness, assurance planning and verification processes
Experience leading projects, programs or improvement initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups
Capability to manage risk information, develop performance insights and use reporting and collaboration tools to support informed decision-making
