Position: Senior Manager II, Site Engineer – Supply Chain 

 

Job Location: 811 Excellence Dr., Bentonville, AR 72716 

 

Duties: Demonstrates knowledge of operational work processes within the Distribution Center (for example, loss profiles, process improvement mindsets, practical experience). Creates strategic leadership partnerships with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Process Improvement Manager to drive end-to-end improvements in the Distribution Center. Manages workloads of Process & Quality Engineers to create an appropriate balance between network-driven projects and building specific improvements. Applies continuous improvement tools (for example, Root Cause Analysis, Time and Motion Studies, Statistical Process Control, Process Deviation, 5S, Six-Sigma) to eliminate losses while creating standards to sustain process improvements. Supports the Walmart Performance System in the building by engaging leaders and demonstrating program effectiveness through problem-solving skills and process improvement thinking. Supports the Daily Management System review and response process at various levels through root cause analysis and counter measure implementation. Collaborates in network "One Best Way" standard implementation and deviation process. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events. The role will also supervise: 2: Manager II, Process Engineer; 1: Senior Manager I, Operations Improvement, Facility; 1: Quality Engineer; 1: Manager II, Quality Engineer; 1: Process Engineer; 1: Process Manager II, Implementation and Sustainment. Position may work at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S. 

 

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Engineering (any), or related field plus 4 years of experience in Engineering, Continuous Improvement Work or a related field; OR 6 years of experience in Engineering, Continuous Improvement Work or a related field. 

 

Skills Required: Must have experience with: Managing large-scale capital automation projects using PMP aligned PMI or Agile Project management; Developing PFEMA and (SOPs) and engineering documentation; Applying advanced continuous improvement methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis, SIPOC, 8D Six Sigma, 5S, Time and Motion Studies, and Statistical Process Control, to eliminate operational losses and standardize processes; Supervising cross-functional engineering teams; Designing and implementing industrial automation systems using PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms; Designing and integrating robotics, material handling, and conveyor control systems in high-throughput environments Simio, Flexsim, Anylogic; Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for automated equipment using systems like TPS, TPM OEE; Conducting system validation, commissioning, and factory/site acceptance testing; Applying data analytics and industrial IoT technologies to improve system performance and reliability; Troubleshooting complex automation, controls, and software issues in live production environments; Designing and implementing process standards and deviation management frameworks through VSM; Analyzing business loss profiles and operational performance data to identify inefficiencies, develop corrective actions, and sustain measurable process improvements; Developing and managing engineering-driven business improvement plans by defining performance metrics, executing corrective countermeasures, and validating effectiveness through data-driven reviews; Applying advanced process analytics using Power BI and Tableau to measure cycle times, throughput, and process variability, enabling identification of loss drivers and validation of lean process improvements. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.         

 

Salary Range: $128,000.00 - $192,000.00/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives
