This position is responsible for maintaining facility compliance with Tyson's WorkSafe programs. This includes completing High Risk Job studies, tracking illnesses, conducting HMP investigations, and completing floor tours and audits to identify ergonomic opportunities.
The team member will work daily with in-house physical therapists, the nurse case manager, nurse manager, and safety manager to investigate and drive the safety culture within the plant.
Additional duties include:
- Maintaining and utilizing the Anago program and system by monitoring knife room operator skills and reporting results to appropriate personnel.
- Planning the execution of equipment that is being modified or newly installed to meet ergonomic requirements.
- Directing, coordinating, and supporting maintenance personnel.
- Working with contractors, vendors, or company engineering on the modification or installation of equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems related to equipment.
Other responsibilities include:
- Conducting new hire orientation.
- Managing new hire bid exhibit tracking.
- Maintaining relevant records.
- Implementing new ways to improve ergonomics within the facility.
- Holding monthly ergonomic meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
- Education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience.
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May be responsible for supervising ergonomic personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel
- 1 to 5 trips per year.
Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination.
