Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Paint Specialist works within the Blanks Coating Department to ensure fly rod blanks are coated safely, efficiently, and to SAGE quality standards. This position is responsible for applying color and clear coating to rod blanks, maintaining coating equipment, monitoring quality, and working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to achieve production goals.
The Manufacturing Paint Specialist maintains a clean and organized work area while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Paint + Production Responsibilities include;
- Mixing paint with catalyst according to specifications
- Balance workload between coating, drying, and downstream operations.
- Help to identify bottlenecks and suggest corrective actions.
- Ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
- Communicate production status during shift pass-down meetings.
- Inventory monitoring and Reporting
- Waste disposal
- SDS compliance
- Testing with Engineering to improve yield, production and quality.
SHIFTS
While we operate on two shifts, this opening is with our 2nd shift production team. Designed to provide a 3-day weekend (!) the Production Team works Monday - Thursday, 2nd shift, 2:15pm to 12:45pm

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with industrial coatings, paints, or composite manufacturing preferred.
COMPENSATION
An hourly position, pay ranges between $20 to $25 an hour, DOE with an added .50cent differential for those working on 2nd shift.
