Description
The City of Fort Dodge is creating a list of seasonal snowplow operators to assist with snowfall operations based on needs and conditions. Individuals must be able to respond in a timely manner to snow events and assist in completing effective and safe snow removal throughout Fort Dodge. Pre-employment, post-offer background check, physical, drug screen and physical capacity evaluation required.1. Operates necessary equipment to remove ice and snow from roads and assigned areas, which require overnight work, early morning starts, extended hours and weekend duty including holidays if needed.
2. Responds in a timely manner when called to assist in snow plowing.
3. Follows all safety rules, policies and regulations. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Requirements: One (1) year of related experience, snow removal experience preferred; valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with air brake endorsement required; good driving record; ability to lift and carry heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds on occasion; and the ability to operate equipment such as end loaders, dump trucks, snowplows with salt spreaders, and snowplows.
