Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Leadership & Centers, Leadership & Centers Student Assistants will support the purpose and mission of The Student Hubs and the division of Student Success within The New School. This position primarily focuses on the operational and logistical support of The Student Hubs and University-wide Events, Programs, and Initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff The Student Hub(s)’ locations: Triaging visitors with professional customer service, answering questions, providing resources, referrals, campus directions, follow-ups, etc.
Maintain bookings, equipment requests, & shift logs: Addressing all booking requests, updating our support platforms, troubleshooting overlaps or specialized needs, and maintaining hourly shift logs for team transparency, status updates, shared accountability, etc.
Aid in printing and tech services maintenance: Including troubleshooting, supply replenishment, vendor communication, and setup/supervision of audio-visual equipment for events.
Support administrative communications: Support administrative tasks including answering calls/emails, managing event registration, assisting with book and equipment requests, promoting programs, initiatives, and collaborations via The Student Hubs’ platforms (website, monitors, social media, etc.).
Support event logistics and campus engagement: assisting with check-in, equipment handling, space setup, and event communications; uplifting student-led initiatives; fostering collaboration across student, staff, and community groups; and participating in major university-wide events as a representative of The Student Hubs.
Support internal operations: including inventory management, organizing storage and desk materials, maintaining lost & found, and recommending future equipment purchases.
Engage in team development: through training, meetings, onboarding new staff, and maintaining confidentiality with high standards of customer service in all interactions.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This Position requires a Federal Work-Study Award
Must be proficient in Google Suite applications (G-cal, G-chat, G-sheets, G-forms, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to creatively problem-solve, multi-task, and function in a collaborative work environment.
Capacity to provide and receive constructive critique to improve job performance.
This position in the context of Equipment Management and Organization frequently needs to traverse multiple levels of stairs and ladders, position oneself into various levels for reaching items, and move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across offices, campus locations, and storage spaces for various needs.
WORK MODE
In-Person - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent time on campus and must report in-person to The Student Hub front desk in order to satisfy all job requirements. #LI-DNI
Hourly Rate: $17-$19/hr

Responsibilities:
As a Leadership & Centers Student Assistant, you will be responsible for staffing the front desk(s) and supporting the day-to-day operations of The Student Hub(s) by providing professional customer service, triaging visitors, responding to questions and requests, maintaining bookings, equipment and supplies, supporting printing and technology services, and assisting with administrative communications and recordkeeping. You will also support campus events and engagement initiatives through event logistics, space and equipment setup, student-led programming, university-wide events, and collaboration with students, staff, and community partners, while contributing to internal operations through inventory management, organization, lost and found, and equipment recommendations.
