Internal Candidate Identified

The Project Support Assistant will assist with development of public and classroom demonstration materials in the Mechanical or Civil shop labs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build several “kid-size” Bridge-in-a-Bag kits (watch an example here: https://youtu.be/R-DjvW_PI9s?si=CpLGrgMQgnRRPBRQ)

  • Cut and prepare steel, metal and wooden components for the model’s beams and bridge decks

  • Sand, paint or apply coatings to components

  • Assemble, test, and package kits for delivery

Requirements

  • Makerspace, fabrication, construction, or model-building experience

  • Comfortable using hand tools and measuring accurately

  • Pursuing or completed coursework in engineering (preferred)

  • Experience in UNH Mechanical or Civil Labs and shop space (preferred)

Compensation Pay Range:

$18/hour
