Estimator - SUC ISD

Description

  LMC Corporation is seeking an experienced Estimator to support our SCUC ISD program. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost proposals for a variety of K-12 and municipal construction projects. This position plays a critical role in the bidding and project planning process by developing detailed estimates and ensuring alignment with district pricing requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for RFQs and construction projects.
• Develop estimates utilizing RS Means CostWorks, Gordian, and applicable pricing databases.
• Review project scopes, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Analyse labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
• Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and construction cost trends.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, and proposal development.
• Ensure estimates comply with client requirements and company standards.
  

Requirements

  Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in commercial, municipal, educational, or public-sector construction.
• Proficiency with RS Means CostWorks and/or Gordian estimating platforms.
• Experience using the San Antonio CCI-adjusted unit price book preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating K-12 educational facilities projects.
• Knowledge of Job Order Contracting (JOC) or cooperative purchasing programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
