As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Patrol Checkpoint in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control functions. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while helping maintain a welcoming, secure environment. - Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology infrastructure location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report security-related concerns to site leadership and/or appropriate responders.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while communicating professionally with client representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
