The Bay Family of Companies is growing, and we're looking for a Material Handler to join our team at our new Lansing, Michigan location.

As a Material Handler, you'll play an essential role in keeping our production operation running smoothly. You'll make sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time—supporting production, preparing shipments, managing inventory, and safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

What You'll Do

As a Material Handler, you'll help keep materials and finished products moving safely and efficiently throughout our facility.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely load, unload, transport, and stage raw materials and finished products 
• Operate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment 
• Keep production supplied with the correct materials to maintain an efficient workflow 
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments 
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documents 
• Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials 
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and material movement records 
• Complete Bills of Lading, Picking Lists, Packing Slips, and other required documentation 
• Perform quality checks to verify product condition, labeling, and documentation 
• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report equipment concerns 
• Safely secure loads and follow designated traffic and storage procedures 
• Keep aisles, work areas, and storage locations clean and organized 
• Work closely with production and shipping teams to help ensure orders are completed and shipped on time 

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, organized, and takes pride in keeping things moving.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• At least 1 year of manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred 
• Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified upon hire 
• Ability to accurately read and follow work orders and shipping documents 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Good communication and teamwork skills 
• Basic computer and inventory-system skills 
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain active throughout the shift 
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive workplace
