The opportunity:
Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to medium complexity. Execution of complete engineering assignments on small, medium or large projects/tender cost effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from OU Engineering team, prepare Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engg hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc
Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender.
How you’ll make an impact:
Involving, Capability in managing project lifecycle (engineering to commissioning support) of at least five AIS and GIS substation projects rated 66 kV and above.
Statcom/SVC/Mobile SS/Prefab SS Knowledge - Hands‑on experience in at least one power quality improvement project.
Substation Interface Engineering with MEP & Civil - Leads interface engineering and complex issue resolution
Vendor Co-ordination - Leads vendor negotiations and critical discussions
Customer & Consultant Co-ordination - Leads customer & Consultant coordination and decision-making
Tender Engineering - Leading the Tender including Risk review, Cost impact analysis, Optimized proposal, client technical coordination, prepare Layout & SLD, BOM/BOQ of all major equipment, accessories.
Project Engineering - Lead the project including Quality & process implementation, planning prioritizing Risk identification, Co-ordination & Delegation skills with the project team.
Knowledge of Safety aspects in engineering and its applications.
Standards - IEC, IEEE & minimum hand in experience of utility base practice & standards like SEC, TAQA, EWA, DEWA, SEWA, TNB, MEA, etc.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
Bachelors Engineering (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
11-15+ years exp
Substation Design Calculation (SCF, SAG, Earthing, DSLP, Lighting, Conductor Sizing, Cable sizing (HV & MV) & Transformer sizing) - In-depth knowledge, standardization of templates, review & optimize the cost and identify the risk analysis & propose alternate solution.
Engineering of OEL, Earthing, Cable routing, DSLP layout - Delivery efficient document, identifies risks, proposes cost‑effective alternatives, and supports capability building within the team.
Tool Experience in Design Calculation (Cymgrd, Cymcab, DIALux, ETAP, CDEGS) - Expert in tools; optimization and validation.
Revit (ACC) & AutoCAD Competency - Review of documents through Revit and Minimal modification in drawings through AutoCAD.
Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.
Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization.

Able to be a team leader to drive the project engineering team.
