Summary
The Senior Market Analyst - Global Private Markets, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, will play a highly visible role supporting the continued evolution and expansion of this global platform. Working directly with business development leadership, partners, practice leaders, Market & Business Intelligence professionals, and other senior stakeholders, this individual will help shape how the Firm identifies, understands, and pursues opportunities across the rapidly evolving private markets ecosystem.
The Sr Market Analyst will act as a strategic advisor and market intelligence partner, helping leadership understand market dynamics, client activity, investor trends, competitor positioning, and emerging opportunities. By synthesizing quantitative data, qualitative insights, market research, firm experience, lawyer observations, client developments, and external intelligence, the Sr Analyst will develop actionable recommendations that inform business development strategy, client engagement, thought leadership, investment decisions, and growth initiatives.
The role works at the intersection of data, strategy, market intelligence, and executive decision-making while helping the firm strengthen its position within the global private markets landscape.
Location
This position is located in our Austin office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Monitor market conditions, investment activity, capital flows, client behavior, and competitor developments to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends relevant to Global Private Markets.
Conduct primary and secondary research utilizing industry databases, market reports, public filings, analyst research, client conversations, surveys, interviews, and other intelligence sources.
Analyze market supply and demand dynamics, investor activity, competitive positioning, and industry developments to support strategic planning and business development efforts.
Segment target markets, client constituencies, investor groups, intermediaries, and industry sectors to inform growth strategies, client targeting, and relationship development initiatives.
Develop market assessments, opportunity analyses, competitor profiles, and periodic intelligence reports for leadership and stakeholder groups.
Present findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to Firm leadership, partners, business development teams, and other key stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
Support identification of future growth areas by evaluating emerging market trends, evolving client needs, and changing competitive dynamics.
Desired Skills
Experience analyzing large amounts of data and qualitative information to identify actionable opportunities and potential growth areas is strongly preferred. Possesses strong analytical capability with commercial judgment, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to see patterns others may miss. Public market intelligence role examples similarly emphasize monitoring industry and competitor activity, structuring complex datasets, delivering actionable insights, synthesizing research into recommendations, maintaining trackers, and communicating clearly with cross-functional stakeholders.
Analytical & Research Capabilities: Strong market research and competitive intelligence skills, including experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources. Demonstrated ability to identify patterns, trends, and market signals and translate findings into practical business recommendations. Experience conducting market analysis, audience segmentation, competitor assessment, and opportunity evaluation. Advanced data storytelling and presentation capabilities, including development of executive-level reports, dashboards, and recommendations. Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and persuasively to senior leadership and business stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect market developments to revenue opportunities, client needs, strategic priorities, and competitive positioning.
Executive Presence & Leadership Engagement: Proven ability to interact confidently with senior executives, partners, and business leaders. Experience influencing decision-making through thoughtful analysis, data-backed recommendations, and concise communication. Ability to balance detailed analytical work with strategic thinking and business judgment.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, business administration, marketing, accounting, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Education
Master's Degree in MBA, master's degree in finance, economics, business analytics, market intelligence, data analytics, or a related field preferred but not required.
Certificates
Relevant certifications or coursework in market intelligence, competitive intelligence, financial analysis, business analytics, data visualization, project management, private markets, or AI-enabled research tools are a plus.
Minimum Years of Experience
6 years’ analytical experience in market intelligence, business intelligence, private markets, financial services, professional services business development, investment research, credit research, corporate strategy, consulting, or a related role.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hiring and may be modified at the firm's discretion.
