Ko mātou tēnei | This is Us

Starting a career in Technology? Ready to learn, contribute, and build your future in one of New Zealand’s leading Tech environments? BNZ Technology is a 1200+ strong team that builds, runs, and supports the tools, platforms, and digital experiences that help BNZers serve our colleagues and customers brilliantly.

te Hōtaka | About the Programme

Our Technology Graduate Programme runs for a full year from February and is designed to give you a rich, well-rounded start to your Tech career. You’ll build technical capability, get under the hood of how a large organisation works, and grow your confidence through hands-on learning, support, and connection. You’ll be part of a Graduate cohort, with regular technical and personal development sessions, plus a strong social culture with your Graduate colleagues and teammates.

What happens at the end of the Technology Graduate Programme?

At the end of your Graduate year, you’ll transition into a Junior role, which would be your first promotion and an exciting milestone in your career journey. Through our Early in Career progression framework, you’ll keep building your skills, stretching into new challenges, and growing with the support of your leaders, teammates, and wider BNZ community. You’re a permanent employee from day one, so your future with us starts the moment you join.

Training and Pathways
Throughout the Early in Career Programme, you’ll take part in workshops that help you grow your technical skills, confidence, networks, and career toolkit. You’ll learn what makes high-performing teams tick, contribute to meaningful work, and be supported by your team and leader through regular coaching and guidance.

We’ll share full details of the pathways during the recruitment process. With the size and breadth of BNZ Technology, there are plenty of places to explore, from front-end teams building our award-winning mobile app, Cyber Security, Data, AI, Engineering, and more.
