Description

Our world is transforming, and PTC is leading the way. Our software brings the physical and digital worlds together, enabling companies to improve operations, create better products, and empower people in all aspects of their business.

Our people make all the difference in our success. Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow – all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible.

As Senior Subscription Manager, you will own a portfolio of customer subscriptions and coordinate the end-to-end commercial lifecycle. You will identify commercial drift, build and maintain a Commercial Roadmap by subscription, recommend the appropriate commercial play at the right time, forecast renewal and broader commercial outcomes, and drive quote-to-booking readiness.

You will move beyond executing renewals to orchestrating commercial outcomes. Working as a trusted commercial advisor, you will align the customer lifecycle state, account strategy, terms, conditions, pricing logic, renewal pathways, and policy-aligned options to balance value delivered to customers and value captured by PTC. Ownership is expressed through accountability, insight, influence, and disciplined follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned subscription portfolio and drive the end-to-end renewal lifecycle to deliver customer value, retention, and sustainable commercial outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain a clear commercial roadmap for assigned accounts, including renewal strategy, customer state, risks, opportunities, dependencies, and next steps.

  • Provide commercial guidance to customers and account teams by connecting contract structure, pricing, product configuration, policy requirements, and account strategy.

  • Identify customer lifecycle state , renewal risk, downgrade signals, modernization opportunities, growth potential, and commercial drift early and recommend appropriate commercial actions.

  • Identify and address commercial drift across contract structure, pricing, discounting, product configuration, renewal pathways, and terms & conditions to maintain commercial alignment over time.

  • Forecast renewal and commercial outcomes accurately by maintaining complete, current, and decision-ready data, documentation, and pipeline hygiene.

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, and other teams to progress the agreed commercial motion.

  • Drive quote-to-booking readiness, timely customer engagement, and disciplined follow-through to reduce late surprises and improve business predictability.

  • Support adoption of strategic initiatives, tools, processes, and programs.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing best practices, strengthening knowledge management, and helping scale consistent Subscription Management execution.

  • Demonstrate PTC values through customer focus, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and a commitment to professional, inclusive, and ethical business conduct.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Senior Subscription Manager consistently delivers strong renewal performance, ARR retention, and sustainable commercial outcomes by owning the end-to-end commercial lifecycle for the assigned portfolio. Curiosity, a strong learning mindset, and the willingness to build deep expertise in PTC’s products, policies, systems, customer motions, and evolving strategic programs are essential.

In a fast-paced, changing environment, the role requires energy, confidence, organization, resilience, and an outcome-focused approach while managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and time-sensitive customer or business needs.

The successful candidate diagnoses customer state early, identifies churn risk and downgrade signals, maintains a high-quality Commercial Roadmap, and provides accurate, decision-ready forecasts that improve business predictability.

Strong performance also depends on robust, trust-based relationships with customers, partners, account teams, and internal stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, and other teams, using clear communication, sound judgment, and disciplined follow-through to progress the right commercial play.

What good looks like also means being a positive team player who shares knowledge, asks for and offers help, reinforces consistent ways of working, contributes to continuous improvement, and helps others succeed. The role exemplifies PTC values through customer focus, accountability, collaboration, integrity, inclusive behavior, openness to feedback, responsible decision-making, and a commitment to doing the right thing for customers, colleagues, and the business.

  • Analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to connect data, business context, risk, customer signals, and commercial implications into practical recommendations.

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills, including the ability to leverage analytics, automation, and AI-assisted insights to improve forecasting accuracy, risk identification, and commercial execution.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and adapt messaging for customers, partners, peers, and senior stakeholders.

Your Profile

This role is a great fit for someone who brings commercial sharpness, customer focus, and positive energy into complex subscription conversations. A successful person is naturally curious, quick to learn, and happy to dive deep into PTC’s products, policies, customer motions, systems, and evolving programs. They do not just “manage renewals” — they connect the dots across customer state, account strategy, contract structure, pricing logic, risk signals, and renewal pathways to help shape the right commercial outcome.

They are organized without being rigid, resilient without being stubborn, and confident without losing the ability to listen. Ambiguity does not throw them off; it motivates them to clarify, structure, and move topics forward responsibly. They are comfortable balancing customer needs with PTC’s long-term business interests, spotting churn risk or downgrade signals early, and turning data, business context, and stakeholder input into practical recommendations.

Just as importantly, this person builds trust. They communicate clearly in German and English, simplify complex topics, and create momentum across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, partners, and customers. They know how to influence without formal authority by being credible, prepared, transparent, and reliable in follow-through.
