Description
Schedule: Third Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
The Electrician is responsible for performing general repair, troubleshooting, upgrading and installation of equipment essential to plant operations at Mactac's manufacturing facility in Scranton, PA and assists the Maintenance Manager in maintaining efficient electrical systems throughout the plant.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating machine installation, wiring and maintenance in the manufacturing area.
- Performing standard Preventative and Predictive Maintenance activities.
- Supporting the Maintenance Group in developing new and updating current proactive maintenance practices to improve the reliability of the facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
- Repairing and troubleshooting equipment and machinery as necessary.
- Upgrading equipment and machinery to prevent breakdown or improve efficiency.
- Installing new equipment and implementing new processes within the plant.
- Promoting relationships between the machine crews and Shift Leaders that encourage teamwork and pride in workmanship.
- Encouraging cooperation and exchange of ideas from all machine crews.
- Maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Tools & Equipment utilized includes:
- General hand tools (screwdriver, wrench, etc.)
- Circuit meter
- Wirestripper
- Battery-operated drills
- Marklift
- Forktruck
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in technology fields and electronic troubleshooting with experience in writing/troubleshooting PLC programs and updating or changing logic.
- Must have working knowledge of Electrical Power Systems, Controls, Electronics and Drive systems.
- Must be able to read/develop electrical control schematics.
- Ability to layout, bend and install electrical conduit.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and implement standard problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to perform basic math functions is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, specifically for work activities such as word processing and graph generation.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making ability, including the ability to identify problems and pursue risk-balanced solutions.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Requires ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with key stakeholders and people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.
