Implementation Manager

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Implementation Manager to lead the successful delivery of data center infrastructure projects across enterprise, hyperscale, and colocation environments.

As the primary owner for implementation activities, you will oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and operational handover of critical infrastructure deployments, ranging from new data center builds and capacity expansions to hardware refreshes, migrations, and technology rollouts.

This role requires a strong blend of project leadership, technical understanding, operational excellence, and stakeholder management. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, logistics, supply chain, facilities, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments and has a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure deployments while driving continuous improvement across implementation processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Project Delivery

• Lead end-to-end implementation activities for multiple concurrent data center infrastructure projects.
• Own project execution from planning and design validation through deployment, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Ensure all implementation milestones are achieved while maintaining delivery quality, budgets, and project timelines.

Deployment & Infrastructure Management

• Coordinate rack and stack activities, server deployments, structured cabling, network infrastructure implementation, and hardware integration.
• Manage deployment readiness across facilities, engineering, logistics, procurement, and vendor teams.
• Ensure infrastructure installations adhere to design specifications, operational requirements, and customer expectations.

Program Planning & Coordination

• Develop and maintain detailed implementation schedules, project plans, risk registers, dependency tracking, and deployment roadmaps.
• Coordinate resources across internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring accountability and timely decision-making.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the central point of contact for customers, contractors, vendors, data center operators, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage vendor performance, deliverables, and service-level expectations throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide clear communication on project progress, risks, dependencies, and critical milestones.

Risk, Change & Issue Management

• Identify and proactively mitigate project risks, infrastructure constraints, and operational challenges.
• Lead issue resolution and escalation management to minimize deployment delays and service impacts.
• Ensure implementation activities align with approved change management and operational governance processes.

Supply Chain & Asset Readiness

• Partner with logistics and procurement teams to ensure equipment availability and deployment readiness.
• Oversee hardware tracking, inventory management, Bills of Materials (BoMs), delivery schedules, and installation requirements.
• Remove deployment blockers through effective coordination of supply chain and operational activities.

Governance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate project documentation, implementation records, status reporting, and executive updates.
• Track project performance against key delivery metrics, milestones, budgets, and operational objectives.
• Deliver regular reporting and meaningful insights to senior leadership and customers.

Quality, Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure adherence to approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and site access protocols.
• Drive operational consistency and implementation best practices across all deployment activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, deployment methodologies, and delivery standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering data center, infrastructure, or technical implementation projects.
• Strong understanding of data center operations, rack integration, structured cabling, network infrastructure, servers, power, cooling, and physical infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience managing complex deployments within enterprise, colocation, cloud, or hyperscale data centers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced operational environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating external vendors, contractors, and technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience supporting hyperscale data center deployments, infrastructure expansion programs, or large-scale hardware migrations.
• Strong understanding of change management, operational readiness, commissioning, and implementation governance.
• Experience with project management platforms including Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with asset lifecycle management, supply chain operations, inventory control, and deployment logistics.
• Knowledge of data center operational standards, safety requirements, and implementation best practices.
