Description
Description
We are looking for a hands-on Network, Infrastructure & Security Manager to take ownership of the infrastructure supporting a growing, multi-location healthcare organization.
This is not a position where you will spend your day managing a team from a spreadsheet. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems.
One day you may be troubleshooting a firewall or connectivity problem. The next you may be investigating a security alert, working with an ISP, reviewing a network design, troubleshooting an API with a software vendor, or figuring out why two systems that worked yesterday suddenly stopped communicating.
If you are the person people call when the problem has already been escalated twice, you may be a great fit for this role.
What You'll Own
You will be responsible for the reliability, security, documentation, and continued improvement of our network and infrastructure environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Firewalls, switches, routing, VLANs, Wi-Fi and WAN connectivity
- Multi-location network infrastructure
- ISP management, outages and failover connectivity
- VPN and secure remote access
- Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid infrastructure
- Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory infrastructure
- Network segmentation and infrastructure security
- Infrastructure monitoring and performance
- EDR and other security technologies
- Vulnerability remediation
- Network and infrastructure documentation
- Equipment lifecycle and capacity planning
- Technical vendor management and escalation
- Support for cybersecurity incident response
- New location and infrastructure deployments
We also need someone comfortable troubleshooting problems beyond the network.
Our systems rely heavily on integrations with third-party technology vendors. You will help troubleshoot APIs, web services, webhooks, SFTP transfers, authentication, certificates, interface failures and other system-to-system connectivity issues.
You don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable looking at an HTTP 500 error, opening Postman, reading JSON or XML, reviewing logs, testing an endpoint, checking DNS/TLS/connectivity and working with a vendor engineer to determine where the problem actually lives.
Cybersecurity
Security is an important part of this position.
You will help manage and improve technical security controls, investigate suspicious activity, coordinate remediation, maintain secure infrastructure configurations and participate in incident response.
We also use external cybersecurity specialists for independent security reviews, penetration testing and assessments. You will work directly with these teams and take ownership of remediating technical findings.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in areas such as:
- TCP/IP, routing and switching
- Enterprise firewalls
- VLANs and network segmentation
- DNS/DHCP
- VPN and remote access
- Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Active Directory
- Azure networking
- Endpoint security / EDR
- Vulnerability remediation
- REST APIs and web services
- HTTP/HTTPS
- JSON/XML
- OAuth/SAML
- TLS certificates
- SFTP
- Postman or similar tools
- PowerShell
- SQL
- Network and application logs
Experience with CrowdStrike, Microsoft security technologies, Citrix, Parallels RAS, healthcare IT, EHR systems, HL7 or interface engines is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Security+, CISSP or Microsoft Azure certifications are beneficial, but we value demonstrated technical ability and problem-solving skills more than a list of certifications.
Who Will Do Well Here
You'll probably enjoy this position if you:
- Like troubleshooting difficult problems rather than immediately escalating them.
- Want ownership of an environment instead of responsibility for one small piece of it.
- Can move comfortably between networking, security, cloud and application troubleshooting.
- Know when to use Wireshark, PowerShell, Postman or a log file to answer a question instead of guessing.
- Can work directly with vendor engineers and hold vendors accountable for resolving issues.
- Document what you build and troubleshoot.
- Can explain a complex technical problem clearly to someone who isn't technical.
- Understand that healthcare technology needs to be both secure and available.
- Are comfortable being the senior technical escalation point before an issue reaches the CTO.
This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and will have meaningful ownership of the organization's technical infrastructure.
We're looking for someone who wants to understand how the entire environment works, improve it, secure it and take responsibility for keeping it running.
