Senior Product Development Design EngineerDesign and develop chassis components for buses, ensuring compliance with applicable local and international regulations, with the objective of guaranteeing functionality, safety, and fulfillment of customer requirements.We are looking for a Senior Product Development Design Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Product Design
- Design, adapt, and document vehicle systems and components according to project requirements.
- Develop engineering solutions that meet quality, performance, safety, and cost objectives.
Prototype Development
- Plan and coordinate the assembly of complete vehicle prototypes and prototype systems.
- Validate design concepts and prepare technical reports documenting results and recommendations.
Product Testing & Validation
- Plan and execute product testing activities required to validate new vehicle projects.
- Analyze test results and prepare reports to support engineering decisions.
Body Builder Alignment (BBA)
- Coordinate and perform visits to body builders to ensure compliance with Daimler Truck guidelines and quality standards for chassis-to-body integration.
Product Support & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze and resolve issues identified during production and field operation.
- Support continuous product improvement initiatives by working closely with cross-functional teams.
Compliance
- Always act in accordance with applicable local and international regulations, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the Daimler Truck Code of Conduct, and all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Previous experience in Product Engineering, Product Development, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Product Validation.
Technical Knowledge
- Automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
- Measurement, testing, and diagnostic equipment.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- SAP.
- Product design software such as NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Digital product evaluation processes.
- Digital tools for component structure analysis.
- Power BI and Microsoft 365.
- Preparation and presentation of results, including cost and timing analysis.
- Development of assembly procedures and manuals.
- Coordination of work teams and project activities.
Skills & Competencies
