Your role at Clorox:
We are looking for our National Trade Marketing Manager to drive the development and execution of best-in-class trade marketing strategies that accelerate business growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and maximize brand performance across retail channels.This leader will play a critical role in connecting Sales, Marketing, Category, and Commercial teams to translate business objectives into actionable customer and channel strategies. The position is responsible for enhancing field sales capabilities, leveraging market insights, developing customer-centric business plans, and ensuring excellence in execution to deliver sustainable growth and superior in-market results.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and strong leadership capabilities to influence key stakeholders and deliver impactful business outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Business Development & Commercial Strategy
- Develop and execute trade marketing strategies aligned with business and commercial objectives.
- Build value-driven customer and channel plans that enhance brand performance and market share.
- Lead the planning and execution of commercial initiatives, promotional activities, and growth programs.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and channel performance to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and maximize commercial impact.
Sales Effectiveness & Field Execution
- Enhance sales force capabilities through tools, insights, training, and best practices.
- Support field sales teams with data-driven recommendations to improve execution and performance.
- Drive adoption of commercial systems, sales processes, and category management principles.
- Monitor execution excellence and ensure strong ROI across promotions and trade investments.
Customer Business Planning & In-Store Excellence
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop customer business plans and channel strategies.
- Lead the execution of in-store marketing initiatives, promotions, and shopper activation programs.
- Ensure alignment between demand generation strategies, customer needs, and execution priorities.
- Develop impactful point-of-sale materials and customer-facing communication strategies.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Trade Marketing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
- Influence stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
Budget & Performance Management
- Manage trade marketing investments and promotional budgets.
- Monitor business performance, profitability, and return on investment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and governance standards.
- Track key business metrics and provide actionable recommendations to optimize results.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial functions, including at least 3 years in Trade Marketing.
- Strong understanding of sales management processes and commercial execution frameworks (CAS).
- Proven experience managing pricing strategies, trade investments, and commercial profitability.
- Expertise in Customer Business Planning, Sales Planning, and Commercial Strategy development.
- Experience interpreting market data and consumer insights, including Nielsen Audits, Household Panels, and commercial scorecards.
- Strong knowledge of Category Management and Conceptual Selling methodologies.
- Advanced understanding of sales, distribution, and financial management metrics, including profitability, margins, and cost analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with market intelligence and auditing tools.
- Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Background
- Experience in FMCG/Consumer Goods environments.
- Multi-channel experience across Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, Convenience, and Retail customers.
- Demonstrated success leading national trade marketing initiatives and customer-facing commercial strategies.
- Track record of delivering sustainable growth and building strong customer partnerships.
